Remarks

There's a two basic version of camouflage composed from green blotches on grey background. Green are very slighlty different on some aircraft and patches haven't a common pattern. Fin's top are from light to medium grey.

MiG-29, Peru, Chiclayo, 2005. First Belarusian pattern - circa 10 to 12 green stains. Number on left wing is perpendicular to aircraft's axle. Camouflage used on MiGs-29 and MiGs-29UB.

MiG-29SE, Peru, Chiclayo, 2005. Second Russian pattern - circa 8 green stains. Number on left wing is not perpendicular to aircraft's axle. Flag on fins is placed a little lower than in first pattern. Camouflage used only on a few aircrafts - 048, 049, and 055 (MiG-29SE).

Overhauled since summer of the year 2008 in Peru.

August 2008: contract with MiG corporation on upgrade 6 MiG-29 and 2 MiG-29UB to something similar to SMT standard, so called SMP (P for Peru).
- digital version of the N019 radar (Zhuk) will be used instead of the N010,
- no structural changes and additional fuel tanks known from SMT,
- avionics from SMT,
- new IRST,
- glass cockpit and HOTAS,
- new jammers,
- no major changes in armament, esp. new air-to-ground missiles will not be used.
Modernization will be carried out by SEMAN, but the old RD-33 engines will be shipped to Russia for overhauling and refurbishment.

2010: according to the RSK MiG annual report 2009, modernization is suspended.

MiG-29, Peru, Chiclayo, 2008. Peruvian camouflage - lightgrey and lightbluegrey. In summer of the year 2008 one Su-25 and one MiG-29 were overhauled in Peruvian Air Force maintenance facility at Las Palmas (SEMAN = Servicio de Mantenimiento). Maybe it's a pattern for MiG-29SMP upgrade?

October 2011: a new chance to revive Peruvian MiGs. Three MiGs (incl. both MiG-29UB) were modernised to SMP standard: BRLS N010ME Zhuk-ME (FGM29) [Beetle] radar from Фазотрон-НИИР [Fazotron NIIR], also on UB! Non-retractable air-refueling probe. Eight aircrafts will be upgraded (6 x MiG-29S and 2 x MiG-29UB) by Peruvian technicians and facilities (SEMAN), rest MiGs only overhauled.

MiG-29UB-SMP, Peru, Chiclayo, October 2011.

July 2012: four modernized MiG-29SMP and one MiG-29UB-SMP were displayed in Chiclayo air base. New pattern of the low-visibility camouflage.
